Protection Settings.

All Protection Setting in the LockXLS are located on the Protection Settings dialog:
This is single place in the LockXLS application, where you should setup Protection Options for your project (Excel workbook). Set of options depends on the type of the protection you use.
Possible types of protection:
- Password
- Trial period
- Hardware based Activation Code
- Activation Code, bound to USB drive
- Serial Number
- Protect without Activation
All options are grouped into tree structure. You should select a node on the left pane to see options available in this group.
More information on the each protection option you can find in the Protection Options topic.
Note When Activation Code is bound to USB drive, file could be unlocked only when USB flash drive is plugged-in. When file was unlocked on one PC, it could be opened on all PCs, where this USB drive is plugged-in.
If link is shown as bold - this option is changed in your project. For example, in the project shown on this image changed options are:
- Product Code
- First Registration
- Object Model Options
- Formulas
Options relative to password protection:
Ask password only once on first opening of encrypted workbook. - Password will be requested only once.
Ask password on each opening of workbook - Password will be requested each time.
Password - Password string which should be entered to access workbook.
Options relative to trial period protection:
Trial period length - Workbook could be opened only during specified number of days after first opening.
Expiration date - Workbook could not be opened after this date.
Remind your customer about registration - Customer will see registration reminder each N days. Also you can provide your own registration message.
Count of trial runs - Allow to open workbook ... - Customer can open you workbook only specified number of times. More ...
Options relative to hardware based Activation Code protection:
On-line activation - Provide URL, where your customer can obtain his Activation Code. More ...
Computer Code Options - Hardware used to generate Computer Code. More ...
Timeout to register workbook - Registration will be required after specified number of days.
Product Code - Product Code is needed to generate Activation Codes for your customers. We recommend to use random values as Activation Codes.
Count of trial runs - Allow to open workbook ... - Customer can open you workbook only specified number of times. More ...
